Portrait of Minerva Peete Van Zandt, first wife of K. M. Van Zandt. The two married in 1857. She died just over ten years later in 1868.

Hand carved portable writing desk with inscription presented to Major K. M. Van Zandt from the Seventh Texas Infantry in July 1905. The desk is composed of over 9,000 pieces of wood from the Raymond Battleground in Mississippi. Inscription reads: "Major K. M. Van Zandt, Seventh Texas Infantry, C. S. A., from the battlefield of Raymond, Miss."

Belonged to Octavia Van Zandt. Most prominently displayed when the Van Zandts lived in the Penn Street home.

Replica of a 1936 statue erected on the grounds of the van Zandt County courthouse in Canton, Texas. The county is named after Isaac, K. M.’s father.

Although this piano is currently significant because of its role in the 1936 Cottage restoration, it had an exciting history even before it was placed here.

The piano was once the property of the now defunct Thorp Springs Christian College, located just north of Granbury, Texas. It was purchased from the college as surplus by the McCaskey family who then brought it to Fort Worth c. 1920. The family first loaned the piano to the Centennial committee, eventually donating it.

The piano top still bears a scar (shown in this photo) from its college days, reportedly from a curtain that caught fire during a performance and fell.
